White silk bodiceBeautiful antique very early silk bodice, ca. 1830 - 1840.
Clothing of this era is very rare, and especially in this amazing condition! The bodcie is made of smooth silk, off-white in colour, decorated with beautiful braiding on the front and sleeves. The front of the bodice is boned with whalebone and padded. The bodice closes in the back with lots and lots of tiny hooks and embroided eyes.
The condition of this bodice is amazing, it is as perfect as an 175+ year old piece of clothing can be. It has no damage. The silk is strong and absolutely not deteriorating, we can only mention some discolourating of the lining due to age. The size is tiny, with a 49 cms waist and a 76 cms bust.
