Victorian wedding gownStunning antique Victorian white silk wedding gown with lots of lace, ca. 1890.
An absolutely gorgeous gown of very good quality, and in amazing condition! Seperate skirt and bodice, made of white silk with lots and lots of lace. De bodice has beautiful tiered sleeves with lace undersleeves, beautiful design. The front of the bodice has a large lace panel, over which crossed pleated chiffon silk panels are attached, trimmed with large lace flounces. This design is repeated at the back of the bodice. The bodice closes in three layers, so there are a LOT of hooks and eyes. Fully boned.
The skirt is a beautiful full skirt with train, very wide flare. The attachment of the bustle part of the skirt is very interesting, it attaches a bit higher on the back of the bodice with hooks and eyes, which makes it drape in a beautiful way. Built in small bustle. The edge of the skirt has very lovely embroidery and the bottom seam is padded so it keeps it's shape. Built in cotton underskirt with ruffles flounce. The skirt flares out beautifully even without an extra underskirt or crinoline.
This gown is in amazing condition, near perfect. The only small amount of damage is to the chiffon ruffle attached to the very edge of the stand up collar, there is a small damaged area ans a small loose bit. Easily replaced should you want to, but it really does not stand out at all. That is the only damage. The gown is very clean, some marks on the inside of the skirt seam, but that's it.
Measures approx. 86 cms at the bust and 62 cms at the waist.
