Victorian mourning bodice, beaded

Victorian mourning bodice, beaded

Absolutely stunning Victorian black silk mourning bodice with an amazing amount of French jet beadwork, ca. 1880 - 1885.
Smooth black satin weave silk with tons and tons of tiny French jet beadwork and lovely black lace appliques. In excellent condition, would be wearable if someone would fit it. Closes with a row of 21 buttons down the front, buttons look to be vulcanite, which is also very unusual to have a complete set! Lined in striped cotton, and of course there are planty of stays. Condition is amazing, only 1 or 2 little scuffs along the closure, no tears, holes or wear to the silk otherwise. Missing only a tiny amount of beading, which is very rare.
Waist approx. 57 cm. Would look great on an antique mannequin or bust, but because of the heavy fabric that holds it's shape very well it also looks amazing on a hanger.
