Victorian engageantes or under sleevesGorgeous early Victorian pair of engageantes or under sleeves, cotton with stunning broderie anglaise, ca. 1850 - 1855.
These removeable under sleeves were worn under the wide and 3/4 length sleeves of the early Victorian gowns and formed huge puffs around the wrists. They were attached with either pins or a running stitch.
In very good condition, really stunning embroidery! They measures approx. 34 cms long.
