Christening set

Stunning antique crepe silk christening set consisting of a christining gown, slip dress and a bolero jacket, ca. 1900.

A really beautiful and rare set, amazing quality. The christening gown is made of crepe silk with a lovely lace bodice, a pintucked waistband with two silk ribbon rosettes, beautiful lace inserts and broderie anglaise at the front of the skirt, and a lace flounce at the hem. The slip dress is made of smooth silk and has a scalloped hem and fine lace trim along the arms and neckline. The bolero jacket has the same beautiful lace inserts and broderie anglaise at the gown, a lace flounce along the whole edge, pintucks at the shoulders and also two beautiful silk ribbon rosettes. With the set is the original blue cardboard box with a picture of a ballerina.

The set is in very good condition. It would look beautiful displayed, but it is certainly in a condition that it could still be used! The gown measures approx. 95 cms long, the box measures approx. 37 x 27 x 8 cms.
